Swedish massage is meant for relaxation purposes. It incorporates light to moderate, long continuous strokes, with some kneading of major muscle groups to soothe the body as a whole. Swedish massage pressure is also coupled with Myofascial Release methods to help with chronic pain and discomfort.
Fascia is a connective tissue which spreads throughout the body in a three-dimensional web from head to foot, without interruption. Trauma, posture or inflammation can create a binding down of fascia resulting in excessive pressure on nerves, muscles, blood vessels, osseous (consisting of or turned into bone) structures, and/or organs.
Myofascial Release may also be incorporated to release facial restrictions. This gentle application of sustained pressure into the fascial restrictions slowly allows the fascia to elongate.
Myofascial release can help treat:
- Back/Cervical Spasms
- Sports Injuries
- TMJ (Trans-mandibular Joint) Pain
